Free and Reduced-Rate Services Program
The Highfields Center for Composting is currently offering a free and reduced-rate services program that provides farmers support services for developing or improving on-farm composting systems. These composting activities can include manure, carcasses or off-farm organics (food or yard waste for example) management. A limited number of slots in this program are available for 2010.
Services:
The services we offer to support on-farm composting activities commonly include: site identification, pad sizing and layout development, feedstock sampling, recipe development, assistance with site permitting, trouble-shooting existing composting problems, and management and monitoring program development and support. Participants in this program also receive a 50% cost-share on the analysis of up to three samples of raw feedstocks or finished compost.
How to Enroll:
You can enroll in the Reduced-Rate Services Program online, by phone or by printing our Reduced Rate Services Application and submitting by mail. In order to receive services, a recipient must be an operating commercial farm.
